Refund policy

At Thredova, every product is made and delivered with care. Please read this policy carefully as it varies depending on the type of product you have purchased.

Overview

We offer the following return windows by product type:

Print-on-demand items 14 days (defects only)
Digital downloads No returns
Custom/personalized items No returns

1. Ready-Made Physical Items

We accept returns on unused, ready-made physical items within 14 days of delivery.

To be eligible:

  • Item must be unused and in original condition
  • Item must be in original packaging
  • Proof of purchase required
  • Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs
  • Items returned not in original condition may be subject to partial refund

Non-returnable physical items include:

  • Gift cards
  • Sale or clearance items
  • Intimate or sanitary goods
  • Items returned after 14 days of delivery

2. Print-on-Demand Items

Thredova uses trusted print-on-demand partners (including Printify and Printful) to produce certain items. Because these products are printed specifically for you upon ordering, we follow the policies of our print partners:

We accept returns or replacements only if:

  • The item arrives damaged or defective
  • The print quality is significantly below standard
  • You received the wrong item, size, or color

We do NOT accept returns for:

  • Buyer’s remorse or change of mind
  • Incorrect size ordered by the buyer
  • Slight color variations between screen and print (this is normal across all print-on-demand products)
  • Items that have been worn, washed, or used

To request a replacement or refund on a print-on-demand item: Contact us within 14 days of delivery with:

  • Your order number
  • Clear photos of the defect or issue
  • A brief description of the problem

We will work with our print partner to either reprint or refund your order at no additional cost to you.

3. Digital Download Items

Due to the nature of digital products, all digital download sales are final.

We do not offer refunds or exchanges on digital items once the file has been downloaded or accessed, in accordance with standard digital goods policy on Etsy, Shopify, and industry-wide platforms.

Exceptions — we will offer a refund if:

  • The file is corrupted and cannot be opened
  • The file delivered is significantly different from what was described
  • A technical error prevented successful delivery

If you experience any technical issue with your digital download, contact us within 7 days of purchase and we will resolve it promptly.

Please note:

  • Digital files are for personal use only
  • Files may not be resold, redistributed, or used for commercial purposes
  • Color variations on printed versions are normal and not grounds for refund

4. Custom & Personalized Orders

Because custom items are made specifically for you, we do not accept returns or exchanges on custom orders unless:

  • The item arrives damaged
  • The personalization contains an error made by us (not the buyer)

Please double-check all personalization details before submitting your order. Errors made by the buyer (misspellings, wrong dates, etc.) are not eligible for refund or replacement.

5. Damaged or Incorrect Items

Regardless of product type, if your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with:

  • Your order number
  • Clear photos showing the damage or error
  • A brief description

We will always make it right — either through a replacement, store credit, or full refund depending on the situation.

6. Cancellations

  • Ready-made items: Cancel within 24 hours of purchase
  • Print-on-demand items: Cancel within 24 hours of purchase — after that, production may have already begun and cancellation may not be possible
  • Digital downloads: Cannot be cancelled once the file has been accessed
  • Custom orders: Cannot be cancelled once production has begun

7. Refund Process

Once your return is received and inspected:

  • You will be notified of approval or rejection by email
  • Approved refunds are processed within 7-10 business days
  • Refunds are returned to your original payment method
  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable
  • Return shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility unless the return is due to our error

Late or missing refunds?

  1. Check your bank account first
  2. Contact your credit card company — posting can take several days
  3. Contact your bank
  4. If still unresolved, contact us directly and we will investigate

8. Sale Items

Only regular priced items are eligible for refund. Sale and clearance items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.

9. Gifts

  • If an item was marked as a gift and shipped directly to you, you will receive store credit for the value of the return
  • If the item was not marked as a gift, the refund will be issued to the original purchaser

10. Return Shipping

  • Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs
  • Original shipping fees are non-refundable
  • For items over $50, we recommend using a trackable shipping service
  • Thredova is not responsible for items lost in return transit
  • Do not send returns to our print partners — contact us first for the correct return address
